As much as I love looking at the images I have shot in the past and how I edited them, I am way to hard on myself. I always think if I only knew this tool and that tool back then! Oh man! Well thank goodness for Photoshop and Raw images! You can always go back and change the editing. Well in Meredith’s case I browsed through the images we shot back in 2011 last week and I found some that I can’t believe I ignored!! Here I go again with being way too hard on myself! Anyways, these were those images I looked over and created some amazing work! I think I should do this more often! Way too much fun! At 22 years old, Brinn Nicole Bierman has conquered more than I could have ever dreamed of conquering in my life time. A great friend, a very spiritual human being and way behind her years mentally, Brinn is an idol in my life. We have been friends for around 3 years and even when she’s gone on a tour travelling every inch of the world as a dancer with Snoop Dogg or busy teaching dance, recording music or on a music video set; whenever we get together it’s like no time has passed. But we do catch up on everything from relationships to life. This last shoot was very random but she quickly had the shoot planned out, always in Brinn fashion with a theme and idea! The Black & White Series she called it! The clothing was Black and White, but the images were not at all Black & White or “simple”! You will notice a blurring effect in the first two images with Brinn in the striped skirt. I created this movement affect and really like the turnout of those two images. Very different of my normal style! This is the Black & White Series of Brinn Nicole Bierman! Enjoy!

Last month I got in contact, by random, with a sweet girl named Bree Randall. She had posted a photo on fb that caught my eye! The photo was of her high waisted Levi 501 shorts that she cut up and cropped an american flag design on the shorts for the 4th of July! I had wanted to shoot an all american theme and this turned out to be the best connection I could have made. Bree and I had mutual friends and she had such a perfect look for the “All American Girl” theme we were going for. We ended up shooting at her family’s ranch out in Santa Clarita. As soon as I pulled up my eyes were drawn to this small barn with wood doors that had tons of texture and color! This shoot turned out so amazing and ended up leading Bree and I into shooting for the 2013 Clothing and Swim for Lira Clothing! My main focus was a lifestyle look in the images with a fashion feel. We nailed it and I absolutely love shooting lifestyle! Check out all of the “4th of July” photos! So excited to show these off as this was my first big Lifestyle/Fashion shoot for a clothing line! I absolutely LOVE Lira, the employee’s and the clothing/suits! These images of Melissa McCarty were shot back in June of this year and just now was able to release them! I just couldn’t stand not being able to show these gorgeous images off! Anyways, back to Melissa! As a reporter for KCAL 9 News here in Los Angeles, She was looking to freshen things up by taking it back to a classic Hollywood look. The dress specifically added to the direction of the shoot as a whole! Our previous shoot was focused on simple headshots and a couple unique pics for her website. But this time we had a direction and we totally nailed this one for sure! I’d like to introduce you to these 3 wonderful girls. Starting from the left: (Nicole, Jamie and Alana) better known as an all new girl group “Cliche”! I have known Alana Hyland and the Hyland family for quite some time, probably shot with Alana a total of 4 times in the past 3 years. This girl is on a fast track to stardom if I say so myself! Girlfriend is almost 16 years old, in college (yes, I said COLLEGE) finished high school at the age of 13 or 14. She has been in training as a hip hop dancer/singer since her family has made the move from Northern California to chase her dream! I’m very excited that I had the opportunity to capture this group full of amazing talent! All 3 of them have a very unique look that pulls together quite well in front of a camera! Will keep you updated on their on going success and I’ll post some of these awesome solo headshots as well! A classic circa 90’s look with a twist of edge, Tashia always takes it to the limit whenever she steps in front of my camera! Not only is she one of my best friends but one of my favorite models to work with. When we hang out, it always turns in to a photoshoot or talk of one, true story. As a fashion forward female, I tend to always have new and weird stuff that she is glad to get her hands on! As a seasoned model, T’s movement is natural and we are so comfortable working with eachother. In retrospect this fact allows me to focus entirely on the creative/technical aspects. I’ve been absolutely obsessed on this specific directional bright lighting that creates a harsh but flattering shadow behind the model. Once I threw the images in photoshop I knew I had nailed it on the head! It took some tweeking and tightening in on the color tones to get that faded and dull look, the exact look I was going for. These were my favorite images out of these 2 looks we shot two nights ago in my garage that I have turned into a studio. And of course it’s late August so were looking at 100+ degree weather during the day.
